SUPPORTING HEALTHIER FUTURES

FOR CHILDREN

EDUCATED PARENTS AND STRONG COMMUNITIES ARE THE KEYS TO KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE AND WELL.

Running the clinical side of child health issues means being at the epicenter of often unpleasant issues. The Center for Family Health and Safety at Phoenix Children’s provides community outreach and injury prevention services that build parenting skills, prevent child abuse, and improve safety in the home, during sleep, when traveling and in the water. Increasingly, the center’s strategy for success strengthens families and communities to better meet the needs of their children.

A strong correlation exists between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and increased risk for health problems in adulthood. To reduce ACEs, the center partners with more than 100 organizations to promote understanding of child development and provide the tools to prevent adverse experiences.
